Christine Ko (born August 3, 1988)is a Taiwanese-American actress who is well-known for her performances as Emma on the CBS sitcom The Great Indoors, Mandy on Upload and Emma on Dave. Before her breakthrough in America she had a brief career in Taiwan in the early 2010s.Ko was born in Chicago and was raised in both Taiwan and Atlanta. She is the daughter of famous Taiwanese entertainer Frankie Kao.Ko has spoken out about the issue of the limited roles available to Asian actors in the United States. Her role on The Great Indoors was originally scripted for a blonde woman However, her agent was able to get her an audition. After her audition, the producers altered their original concept of Emma's appearance. Ko said, "I believe that's true that diversity is a fact. You're like everyone else. You just look Asian... It's the way we live. It's just not yet recognized in Hollywood. "Ko joined the cast of the tv series Hawaii Five-0 part way into the eighth season. She also appeared as a guest on HBO's comedy series Ballers. She is a part of the FXX series Dave along with Dave BurdIn 2021, she starred alongside Canadian singer Justin Bieber in the music video for his song "Hold on".
