Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn (born June 10, 1963) is an American actress from the United States. Her career began on the stage, appearing in a variety of plays throughout the first part of the 1990s, including Anton Chekhov's Three Sisters on Broadway. Her film career began with the movie Basic Instinct (1992) where she played the role of police officers' psychologist. Her other film roles include The Firm (1993), Waterworld (1995) and Sliding Doors (1998). On TV, she played in the role of Barbara Henrickson (2006-2011), Waterworld (1995) and Sliding Doors (1998). She was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for her part as Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis on the CBS drama Criminal Minds (2012). Tripplehorn was the daughter Suzanne Ferguson and Tom Tripplehorn (once a guitarist with Gary Lewis & the Playboys). When she was only two years old, her parents split. She graduated from Edison High School in 1981 and then spent a semester at the University of Tulsa. She was a part of the local television shows Creature Feature (1982-83) and Night Shift (1983). She worked for several years on KMOD, a local radio station.
