Kathryn Lee Gifford (nee Epstein; born August 16, 1953) is an American television presenter, singer, songwriter, actress and author. From 1985 to 2000 she along with Regis Philbin hosted the talk show Live! with Regis as well as Kathie Lee. Gifford is also known for her 11-year-long run with Hoda Koutb in the fourth hour (2008-2019) of the NBC's Today Show. She has been awarded eleven Daytime Emmy nominations and won her first Daytime Emmy in 2010 as part of the Today team.Gifford's first TV role was as Tom Kennedy's singer/sidekick in the syndicated version of Name That Tune in the 1977-1978 season. She also appeared in the initial three hours of Today and was a contributing NBC News correspondentKathie Lee married Paul Johnson, a composer, arranger, producer and producer of Christian music in the year 1976. After the divorce, in 1982, she married sportscaster and former NFL player Frank Gifford in 1986. He passed away in the year 2015. Kathie Lee has released studio music albums as well as a number of books.Gifford was born Kathryn Lee Epstein in Paris, France, to American parents, Joan (born Cuttell; January 20, 1930 until September 12, 2017) was a musician as well as Aaron Epstein (March 19, 1924 until November 19, 2002) was a musician and former US Navy Chief Petty Officer. Aaron Epstein was in France with his family when Gifford was born. Gifford was born in Bowie, Maryland and attended Bowie High School.
