Olive Marie Osmond (born October 13th, 1959) is an American actor, singer as well as a host on television. She is a member of the show business family, the Osmonds. Although she was never part of the family's singing group, she gained success as a pop and country music artist and television co-host of a variety show during the 1970s and 1980s. The most well-known of her songs is a re-imagining of the pop country ballad "Paper Roses". From 1976 until 1979, she and her singer brother Donny Osmond starred on the tv variety show Donny & Marie.Olive Marie Osmond was born in Ogden, Utah, the eighth of nine children (and the sole daughter) born to Olive May (nee Davis; 1925-2004) and George Virl Osmond (1917-2007). She was raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The brothers she has comprise Virl and Tom Osmond, Wayne, Merrill (Jay, Donny, Wayne), Alan, Wayne, Merrill and Wayne) and Wayne, and Jay, Donny, Jimmy Osmond, Jimmy Osmond, Merrill, Jay, Donny and Merrill Osmond. From an early age, her brothers maintained an active career in showbusiness as well as singing and performing on television networks across the nation. Osmond was first seen on The Andy Williams Show as part of the Osmond Brothers' group, but she didn't sing with her brothers in the group's TV performances in the 1960s.
