Matt Gutman

 Matt Gutman, ABC News Chief National correspondent, is based in Los Angeles. He is a correspondent for all ABC News broadcasts and platforms that include "World News Tonight with David Muir," "20/20," "Good Morning America" and "Nightline." He has reported for ABC from more than 40 countries around the globe.Gutman is a multiple award-winning correspondent, has covered COVID-19's crisis, protests on American streets following the death of George Floyd, the immigration crisis, and numerous terror attacks.Over the last two decades, Gutman has been one of the most often-used correspondents for "20/20." Gutman's unflinching reporting made "20/20" achieve an Emmy(r) for its documentary on the 2017 Las Vegas massacre and a Christopher Award for its reporting on the Thai cave rescue. Gutman was present to witness the treacherous rescue of 12 Thai teenagers and their soccer coach from the caves of Thailand. He subsequently authored "The Boys in the Cave" that recounts the heroic efforts of a motley crew of cave diving misfits the US Airforce, and Thai Navy Seals who led the rescue.
