Matt Gutman

 Matt Gutman is ABC News' Chief National Correspondent based in Los Angeles. He is a correspondent for all ABC News broadcasts and platforms which include "World News Tonight with David Muir," "20/20," "Good Morning America" and "Nightline." He has covered for ABC from more than 40 countries across the globe.Gutman is a multiple award-winning reporter, has covered the COVID-19 crisis, the protests in American streets following the passing of George Floyd, the immigration crisis, and countless international and domestic terrorist attacks.Over the past half-decade, Gutman has been one of the most popular correspondents for "20/20." Gutman's tireless reporting made "20/20" get an Emmy(r) for its documentary on the 2017 Las Vegas massacre and a Christopher Award for its reporting on the Thai cave rescue. Gutman followed every step of the difficult mission to save 12 soccer players and their coach from a flood-prone cave in Thailand. He later wrote "The Boys in the Cave," which recounted the heroic efforts of a ragtag group of cave diving misfits, the US Airforce, and Thai Navy Seals, who led the rescue.
