Her fame is based on her distinctive disco-pop sound and mezzo-soprano voice. Lipa has won numerous awards, which include six Brit Awards as well as three Grammy Awards. She also received two MTV Europe Music Awards and an MTV Video Music Award. In 2014, Lipa signed with Warner Bros. Records and released her debut album, "Lipa". The album peaked at third place on the UK Albums Chart. It also released eight singles, including "Be the One", IDGAF, and the UK number one hit single "New Rules". The track also reached the top spot in the US. The album was certified platinum in a variety of nations around the world. Lipa won the Brit Awards for British Female Solo Artist in 2018 and British Breakthrough Act for 2018. Her 2018 single "One Kiss" was a top-performing single at number 1 in the UK. It was also the longest-running top single by a female artist in 2018, winning the Brit Award for Song Of the Year in the year 2019. Lipa was awarded the Grammy Award in 2019 for Best New Artist and the Grammy Award as Best Dance Recording for "Electricity", her collaboration with Silk City. In the following year, she won the Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording.
