MATTHEW SETTLE

 At age 19 Matthew Settle moved to New York City and joined a rock band. He decided to become an actor when his inability play a musical instrument forced him to reconsider the direction he wanted to take in his career. After a series of drama classes, unsuccessful pilots and TV shows, the Johnny-comes-lately to the film industry was able to land his first big role in I Still Know What You Did Last summer (1998). Settle was nearly 29 years old. Settle was born in Hickory (NC) on 17 September 1969. In 1983, his father, an ordained Baptist preacher, as well as his mother, who was a organist at the church, moved the family to Sevierville, TN. Settle was a Dolly Parton fan and sold records at Dollywood's nearby amusement park. Settle then made the decision to become a musician. After being kicked out of the rock group based in New York, he hawked seafood and meat off of the back of a truck located on Long Island before Jay Julian Robert De Niro's attorney, got him into acting school. Settle took money from his friends to afford the classes after which he moved in Los Angeles to begin his career.Settle made his debut on screen opposite Sarah Paulson as an Irish-American settler in the 1996 CBS pilot Shaughnesy. In the movie of week The Story of Bobby Earl?, he was a frat kid. (1997), Kate Jackson and Kristian alfonso. He plays a small role in the TV movie Murder in Mind (1997) along with Ellen Burstyn, Kristin Davis.
