Salma Hayek

Salma Hayek was conceived in Coatzacoalcos (Mexico) on September 2 1996. Her father is of Lebanese descent , and her mother is of Mexican/Spanish ancestry. She was a part of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971), in an local theater and realized that she wanted to be an actor. At the age of 12 she was sent to the Academy of the Sacred Heart in New Orleans, Louisiana. She attended Mexico City's prestigious University of the Sacred Heart located in New Orleans, Louisiana. Soon she was eager to begin acting seriously. Teresa (1989), the soap opera that was highly successful which earned her fame in Mexico, gave her the role of the title. She was keen to create films and discover her talents and passions which led her to leave Mexico (1989) as well as Teresa (1991). There was speculation that she was having an affair with Mexico's president. She fled to avoid the fury of her wife. She made her way to Los Angeles. She entered Hollywood with naive enthusiasm and quickly realized that Latina actors were cast as mistress maids or local prostitute. The actress had only been offered minor roles by 1992. She appeared on Street Justice (1991), The Sinbad Show (1993), Nurses (1991), Nurses (1991), as well as as a sexy maid in Dream On (1990). Mi Vida Loca (1993) also had her one line. In a state of denial by Anglo filmmakers, she vented her anger on Paul Rodriguez's late-night Spanish-language talk show.
