Sela Ward, an American actor, is best recognized for her Emmy Award-winning performances on shows such as "Sisters" as well as "Once and Again." Sela was born in Mississippi and has been attracted to acting since childhood. After high school, she graduated she enrolled in the University of Alabama and double majored in fine art and advertising. Her first job was as a storyboard artist. In order to earn extra money, she began modeling and soon was appearing in commercials on television. She made both her television and film debuts in 1983, including the film called 'The Man Who Loved Women' and the series named 'Emerald Point N.A.S.' After starring in guest roles in various films and TV series throughout the 1980s, she made her biggest acting breakthrough in 1991, when she appeared in the TV series titled 'Sisters.' The series featured her in the role of 'Teddy', one of the leading characters, and for this she won a 'Primetime Emmy award. She was also a part of the show "Once and Again" and won another 'Primetime Emmy' and a 'Golden Globe award for her performance in the role of "Lily Manning" in the series. She also has appeared in films such as "Independence Day: Resurgence' and 'The Day After Tomorrow..'
