Tina was born in New York City and burst into the national stage in her teens. Tina was a star in a show on Broadway in "Li'l Abner" and was critically and critically acclaimed. It is inspired by Al Capp's comic strip character. Her stellar reviews attracted the attention of Hollywood and Tina signed up to make her debut feature film, God's Little Acre (1958) that was a film that premiered at the Venice Film Festival. It was at this stage when she began her professional career that she began working with Lee Strasberg and the Actors Studio in New York because she believed that it was "time to grow and expand my understanding of the craft . . . Lee Strasberg," says Tina, "had the most powerful influence on me. He influenced my life as no other man ever has. Tina returned to Broadway as Carol Burnett in "Fade in, Fade Out" after having appeared in a number of other films. She continued her work in Hollywood and was a part of the CBS sitcom Gilligan's Island (1964) as Ginger Grant.
