Kimberly Jan Dickens, born June 18, 1965, is an American actress. Her film debut was in the 1995 comedy film Palookaville. Dickens played the lead role in the movies Truth or Consequences, N.M. (1997), Zero Effect (1998) and Mercury Rising (1998). Other films she's appeared in include Great Expectations (1998) and Hollow Man (1998). She stars as Madison Clark in the AMC horror drama series Fear the Walking Dead (2015-2018; 2022-present).Dickens was born in Huntsville, Alabama to Pam (Clark) Howell and Justin Dickens, a country-western singer. She graduated from Huntsville's Lee High School and attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee where she graduated with the Bachelor of Arts degree in communication. Dickens was able to move swiftly to New York City to work as a waitress and continue her studies at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. She also graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
