Shannon Spake, born July 23rd 1976 is a reporter for the NFL and host of NASCAR on Fox Sports. Before that, she was with ESPN which she joined SportsCenter for pre and post-game updates and was also an on-side reporter for SEC on ESPN basketball matches as well as college football games. Spake was also a part of the recently created SEC Network which is owned by ESPN.Before moving to ESPN, Spake worked at Speed channel, where she hosted NASCAR Nation in its second version (June through November 2005) and also worked as the reporter for its inaugural edition (February through June 2005). Back Seat Drivers was also hosted by Spake and Marty Smith, an online columnist. Her previous broadcasting jobs include the ones at WCCB in Charlotte, North Carolina, as well as Carolina Sports and Entertainment Television.From 2007 until the year 2014. Spake was an NASCAR pit reporter for ESPN and was a contributor to NASCAR Countdown and NASCAR Now. For the 2008 season, Spake was a full-time pit reporter for Nationwide and Sprint Cup races aired on ESPN. This position would continue until ESPN dropped the rights to broadcast NBC Sports in the 2015 season. Spake signed the multi-year extension contract on the 13th of August in 2013.
